  • What is our opening hours?

    Learners attending full day: 9:30 - 15:00

    Learners attending AM session: 9:30 - 12:30

    Learners attending PM session: 13:00 - 15:00

    Office/Workshop opening hours - 8:30 - 17:00

  • How do you get to RST?

    Learners will either be provided transport through their referring organisation or will need to make thier own way to RST.

    We are positioned next to Temple Meads Train Station with multiple train and bus routes.

    Our workshops can be tricky to find if you do not know the one way system around the station so please contact the office for guidance if necessary.

  • What qualifications do we offer & are our courses accredited?

    We offer a Construction Level 1 & 2 Course (Step Up) Learners can achieve an Award, Certificate and/or Diploma. Please see Course Content page for information on units.

    Yes, Our construction courses are accredited by Ascentis.

  • How do we ensure we meet the construction industry's standards?

    As part of our internal and external audit, we employ an internal verifier and a visiting external verifier. Both verifiers check all aspects of our deliver including observations, checking records and talking to staff and learners.

    We also invest in CPD and keep informed of the construction industry’s development and legislation in terms of best practice, updates and health and safety.

  • What else do we offer on the course?

    Our course includes Health & Safety Awareness, Life Skills and working as a team would onsite.

    We also support with career preparation, CV writing and next steps. This can be from interview prep to college applications to helping learners find apprenticeships.

  • Do we provide Maths & English tuition?

    Most of our learners attend Maths & English at their respective schools/academies. We can help to organise tuition with confirmation from the referring organisation and depending on timetables can host this onsite.

    Some of our learners may access virtual learning and we can faciliate this in most instances.

  • Do we accept learners with SEN or disabilities?

    Yes.

    Please note this will depend on the scale and scope of the disability and whether workshop tasks are suitable, with special consideration to Health & Safety (this is always our priority)

    Many of our learners are SEN/SEND or have other learning difficulties, mental health problems or medical conditions. Most commonly these can include; Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autism, ADHD, Hearing Difficulties etc…

    Due to the practical nature of our provision and hands on learning style a assessment on the learners difficulties will need to be done before acceptance onto the course.

    We treat all our learners as part of the RST team and will always provide reasonable adjustments and extra help when possible.

  • Are we a part time or full time provision?

    Our learners are referred to us by schools, local authorities & other educational organisations/agencies. This means the young person is on their role. Therefore we cannot take learners full time.

    The maximum a learner can attend RST is 3 days a week. If Maths & English is organised through independent tuition we may be able to accommodate the lessons onsite.

  • What do we charge for our course?

    We can offer discount for group bookings.

    If you are a parent/carer looking to enroll a young person please contact the organisation the young person is on role with as we can only accept referrals.
